HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
We recommend that you book as soon as possible after setting your date and booking your venue. We only take on a set number of weddings a year to ensure we give you the time and attention you and your wedding deserve. We generally have bookings a year to two years in advance.
HOW DO WE MAKE A BOOKING?
You can either email us or submit our wedding enquiry form, filling in your details, wedding date and requirements, we can then check if we are available for your chosen date. We can then arrange a meeting for you to see our portfolio and samples. After this meeting we will email you to confirm what we discussed during the meeting and send you a booking form. If you are happy to proceed all you need to do is fill out the form and include a 10% deposit to secure the date. When all paperwork and deposit is received we will send you a confirmation for your records.
THE BOOKING IS MADE, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once the booking has been confirmed, you can sit back and enjoy the wedding planning for a while. 3-4 weeks prior to your big day, we will be in touch to arrange a pre-wedding meeting, where we will discuss the timings of your day, family groups and any other photography requests you may have.
The outstanding balance of your wedding photography options is due for payment 2 weeks before your wedding day.
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH ON THE WEDDING DAY?
We love to capture those spontaneous moments, but we also like to add some more posed, formal shots that help to create the unique story of your wedding.
We love capturing the emotions of the day and all the little details, that you have spent so long planning and organising.
DO YOU HAVE BUSINESS INSURANCE?
Absolutely, yes, we have Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Cover.
DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPTMENT?
Yes! We have spares for just about everything.
WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
We would describe our style as an artistic one. We combine the best of directed formal groups and fine art imagery with spontaneous reportage photography. We think the most original and exciting wedding photographs are born from a fusion of classical lighting and posing with artistic and contemporary ideas. We photograph to tell the story of your wedding in images that will capture every moment of your day.
WHAT IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY?
That is not a problem at all, we are in Scotland after all! We have photographed lots of weddings where it has rained. If you really want to go for it in the rain, we can use umbrellas and you could bring a pair of wellies so we can still have fun shots outside. If not, that's also no problem, we will find a lovely little space inside your venue and can quickly go outside, should the weather clear. We are very flexible.
DO WE HAVE TO POSE?
We believe that whilst ‘catching the moment’ is vital in our wedding photography, it is also very important not to forget the more formal posed shots. We think they can be some of the best of the day. The art of posing is often overlooked today which is a great shame. This is also the time when we have the chance to show off to everyone the wonderful colours of dresses and flowers, the intricacy of the hair do’s, the artistry of the makeup, even the amazing and unusual shoes. We pose the groups in a way that complements all these things.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THE PHOTOS TO BE READY?
That depends on our workload at the time. During busy months, it can take approx 3-4 weeks, in quieter times it would be 2-3 weeks. But we will advise the approx. turn-around time at our pre-wedding meeting.
Once the photos are ready, I will contact you to arrange a viewing session, where you will see your images for the first time. That is also perfect opportunity to see how your wedding album could look, and also if you would like to purchase any images as wall art for your home, whether they’re canvases, frames, acrylics or aluminum prints.
CAN OUR FAMILY & FRIENDS BUY PRINTS OR VIEW THE PHOTOS ANYWHERE?
All images are uploaded to a password protected online gallery. If you give friends and family the password they can also view your images and buy any images that they’d like.
