As I said we were so lucky with the weather and did all the groups outside. We even managed to get the bride and groom outside in the gorgeous grounds of the hotel. Meldrum House is always an inspiring place to take photographs. Here are some pictures to show you what fun we had!

At the church David noticed someone taking a picture of the bride on their camera, so he simply took a photo of them taking a photo! Here are the results. Good fun.

After the church we drove to Ardoe House Hotel which was looking particularly elegant in the sunshine. The cars (a Bentley!) were magnificent…….

It was so hot! Jenny had particularly chosen a March wedding in Aberdeenshire for the cold temperatures! But everyone had such fun as they sat and chatted outside in the glorious sunshine on the gorgeous green lawns of Ardoe House Hotel which overlook the river . We laughed so much at this wedding I think my sides still hurt!  Jenny and Dom were the perfect couple – so happy and so in love. I was really happy with the photographs from the day. I am sure the party lasted long into the night.

What a great day, thank you everyone who was involved. Here are some more picture of the lovely couple. All the best in the future!

Sara and Allan have a very close family. Sara’s parents, Dot and Alan, two little children Sophie and Max and Allan’s mother Karen were totally involved with Sara and Allan on the day. Sara had the foresight to be using Alison at North East Events as her wedding co-ordinator. Alison was fantastic. I even over heard her say to Sarah at one point: “No you go and sit down, I’ll change the baby’s nappy!” I would highly recommend Alison to anyone.

Little Sophie was a gorgeous flower girl, and baby Max was also very obliging. I didn’t hear him cry once even amidst all the commotion. Sara’s bridesmaids were a great help with Max while Sara was getting ready – in fact everyone lent a helping hand.

The wedding was held at Meldrum House Hotel which looked as lovely as ever. The fires were lit and it all looked very warm and elegant on a cold December night.  We had some fun in the dark with the photos! That’s one of the great benefits of a Winter wedding……

The cake was gorgeous and made by Bev at Cakes by Design.  The colour theme of red co ordinated so perfectly with the  beautiful bouquet of red roses by Isla Duncan of Isla Duncan Florists. Sara’s dress was very elegant. It was designed by Rosetta Nicolini at Berketex and her make up was by  Lauren at Flawless Beauty. You can see how gorgeous she looked.

and finally Sara and Allan on the grand staircase ……

Sarah looked absolutely beautiful and very romantic standing on the edge of the Loch.  Her dress looked incredible as she stood overlooking the water to the hills beyond.

We had a lot of fun with Sarah and DJ. They are a super couple with lovely  friends who all really entered into the spirit of the day. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly and full of laughter all day. Here they are below walking with Jamie, Cameron, Duncan, Cherie, Ceri and Dommy on the lawn below the Lodge and Sarah with her bridesmaids in the gorgeous picture window that overlooks the Loch.

It was impossible not to notice these three little people – flower girls Aimee and  Carlee and pageboy Ronan. I love photographing children and these were three very special ones. They looked (and behaved) like angels all day long.

We had some wonderful photographic opportunities. Sarah and DJ were  full of enthusiasm for everything we tried.  This image was taken on a very precarious jetty going out into the loch and it was a bit of a risky shot. They were very brave to walk out there knowing they might end up in the water!  It was well worth it though as they look wonderful.  Thank you both so much for being such a great couple and good luck with everything you do in the future.

We just had such a fun day.  We photograph some food at our weddings obviously but this gave us a whole host of new ideas for our images for our 2012 wedding season!  Have a look at some of the pictures, I am sure they will make you hungry!

We also had a chance to photograph some of the lovely people who work at Hudson’s Catering. They were brilliant, loved their work and produced incredible food.

Thank you Hudson’s for inviting us in! It was a fun afternoon, and we came away happy.

Faye and Colin live in Dubai and Faye definitely wanted snow on her wedding day! I’m not sure what she said to whom but…… the day before her wedding was grey and murky,  darkness arrived and when we all woke up in the morning a winter wonderland had magically appeared!  Norwood Hall was coated in white!  And then it conveniently disappeared the next day…. incredible!

It was a great wedding and a great day.  Norwood Hall Hotel  looked as elegant as always and provided a marvelous setting to the day’s celebrations. Family and friends were all gathered there, the fires were lit, the flowers were festive and the atmosphere warm and glowing.

Megan, Faye’s niece, was a beautiful flower girl. She was a joy to photograph.  This is my favourite photo of her:

Faye’s dress was stunning and looked so elegant on the lovely staircase at Norwood Hall.

 From the warmth of the hotel we braved the cold and snow outside….

The cake was something else – designed by Fiona Barnett  of  CakesbyFiona  with Faye and Colin and their lovely boxer dog Heidi standing in front of sleigh full of presents pulled by reindeer. It was a real work of art.
