  Faye and Colin live in Dubai and Faye definitely wanted snow on her wedding day! I'm not sure how she worked it out but...... the day before was grey and murky,  darkness arrived and when we all woke up next morning snow had magically appeared!  Norwood Hall was coated in white!  And then it conveniently disappeared the next day....perfect! It was a great wedding and a great day.  Norwood looked as elegant as always and provided a marvelous setting to the day's celebrations. Aberdeen Wedding Photography: Come see us at the largest Wedding Show in the North of Scotland

Happy New Year!  After a busy holiday period we are now getting ready for our biggest wedding show of the year! Your Wedding Exhibition is being held on the 14th & 15th January at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. As the end of the year comes we all start to look back at 2011.  This has been a great year for me both personally and professionally. I joined Janie Barclay Photography at the beginning of the wedding season. With several year's photographic experience under my belt  this unexpected opportunity arose totally out of the blue and really excited me - talk about fate! Norwood Hall Photo Shoot with Isabelle Randal Dresses and Modelz UK

We had such a fantastic day on Sunday at Norwood Hall Hotel in Aberdeen. This is a beautiful Scottish venue for a wedding. They could not have been kinder or more helpful to us all day -  nothing was too much trouble. The hotel looked it's best with gorgeous Christmas decorations and cosy open fires. They kept us supplied with delicious trays of  sandwiches and drinks and all the staff entered into the spirit of the ocassion with great enthusiasm. It was such fun. Laurie and David’s wedding at Maryculter House Hotel

    Maryculter House  was the venue for the wedding this summer of Laurie and David. It was the perfect day. I love the history of these old Scottish houses around Aberdeen. Maryculter House was founded on the site where the Knights Templar built a chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in about 1227. The ruins of this Chapel can be seen in the old kirkyard next to the hotel where we always go to take photos. Emma and Shaun at Thainstone House Hotel

The 1st of July was Emma and Shaun's big day. They chose to get married in Thainstone House Hotel. This is one of my favourite hotels in rural Aberdeenshire - a beautiful old Palladian Mansion situated between Aberdeen and Inverurie - full of charm and warmth and friendly, helpful staff. It's history is interesting -  in the 18th Century, the Jacobites put Thainstone to torch. It's owner James Wilson of Thainstone escaped the fire and fled to America where he later put his name to the American Declaration of Independence. Lochnagar and Cuidhe Crom

I was looking at this photo thinking it could be a photograph of the surface of the moon, or maybe the end of the world?  Looks pretty bleak, and it was so cold. My two sons David and Jamie decided to have a go at climbing Lochnagar so I thought I'd go with them. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be so extreme. We didn't get to the top in the end of because of the ice and wind, but we did get to the top of a mountain beside it called Cuidhe Crom a Murdo. James and Craig’s Wedding Album – The Town House and Rox Hotel, Aberdeen

James and Craig's wedding was memorable enough, but the fun we had afterwards creating their 'masterpiece of an album' topped even that! We eventually decided to call it a day when we got to 80 pages! I am very happy to say they were delighted with it (and so was I!) and this is what they said: Hi Janie! Well, we got home on Saturday after being at yours and opened our album! WOW! We are SO chuffed with it....the time we took to get it just right was well worth it!
